Hi Mrs. Kelly!
This is a quote from the book Enna Burning by Shannon Hale. It’s part of the Bayern series that I really enjoy reading.
“Enna let the fire burn out.”
This quote was confusing, so it led to suspense, which made me want to keep reading. I really like this lead since it’s short and simple yet intriguing and interesting.

Hello everyone,
This is my favorite beginning from “The Sea of Monsters”;
“My nightmare started like this.”

Hi, this is my first line…

This line gave me a lot of questions but the main one is, “Why do they need an army?”
This is one of my favorite books ever. The first line is “The end of the world started when a pegasus landed on the hood of my car.” It’s from the Last Olympian, and it might not be the exact quote because I’m saying it from memory…I’m pretty much obsessed with that series…:)
Hi Mrs.Kelly this is my LEAD for my memoir:
“As the train’s clickety, clackety wheels drove away, I couldn’t wait to spend a whole 24 hours with my mom, AND NO brothers!!!!!”
Thanks see ya in periods 2/5
-Annie
I think the you really described the train’s wheels and the joy of being away from siblings. The CAPITALIZATION really emphasized your meaning.
K.T.
Hi Mrs. Kelly the lead by annie was Annie REHM sorry.
It is Nicko’s first night out of the House of Foryx, and Jenna thinks he is going a little crazy.

His eyes were closed like a new born baby, gently resting his head on the pillow as if it was a cloud sitting still for him to enjoy. His hand was over the corner of the bed trying to allow him to be comfortable even though that was hard for him to do.I could see him in the window like this. He was laying there with no movement except the faint up and down motion from breathing.
Wow! I really love the description and the figurative language. Is that lead from a book or your memoir? Thanks for sharing!!!
Katie

I don’t know wherew to post this, so I’ll just write it here- I read seven or eight of the Tanka poems and they were really amazing. I would’ve read more but I ran out of time. It’s amazing how much feeling is squeezed into such a short space. I really want to learn how to write these!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
